Fusion of strings at Kalabharathi

Noted sitarist Gaurav Mazumdar of New Delhi and reputed violinist GJR Krishnan of Chennai, would present a jugalbandi at Kalabharathi here on Saturday. Visakha Music Academy features this programme marking its 40th anniversary, stated secretary of the Academy MS Srinivas in press release here today.The concert titled 'Fusion of strings' presents best of Hindustani and Carnatic styles of music. Gaurav Muzumdar is a disciple of Sitar maestro Pt. Ravi Shankar. 'Echos from India', 'In search of peace', 'Soul strings', 'East meets West' are some of his well-known albums. GJR Krishnan, son of legendary Lalgudi Jayaraman, has to his credit works like 'Majesty of Melodies' and 'Vibgyor' on violin.
