Neyvelli Santhana Gopalan honoured with Nedunuri Krishna Murthy Puraskar


Chennai-based carnatic vocalist Neyvelli Santhana Gopalan was honoured with Visakha Music Academy's Nedunuri Krishna Murthy Puraskar on the fourth day of the ongoing six-day festival of music and dance.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vijaya Kumar said Mr. Neyvelli Santhana Gopalan has been a torch bearer among youth for carnatic classical music and his commitment to classical music was unswerving, he added. Mr. Rangarajan termed the music of Santhana Gopalan as pure and chaste that soothes the mind.

On this occasion, t he academy honoured city-based vocalist duo and exponents of Annamayya compositions Chaganti Sandhya Sundar and Indira Bharadwaj, who made a mark entering into Limca Book of Records for a 48-hour singing session of Annamayya compositions in the city.

Mr. Santhana Gopalan's captivating vocal concert delighted the music lovers.
