Award presented to Bharatanatyam exponent

Chennai-based exponent of Bharatanatyam was honoured with Visakha Music Academy's Natya Kala Sagara award on the fifth day of the ongoing six-day festival of music and dance here.

Carnatic exponent Mangalampalli Bala Murali Krishna gave away the award and felicitated her. Calling her 'Sakala Kala Vallabhi' he showered praise on her. Besides being an artiste of exceptional calibre, she was ace choreographer, he added.

Mr. Bala Murali's impromptu rendition of his own composition 'Omkarakarini' in raga Lavangi enthralled the audience.
